International
SKA Steering Committee
The International SKA Steering Committee (ISSC) was formed by international
agreement at the time of the 24th General Assembly of the International
Astronomical Union in Manchester, U.K. The ISSC currently
represents eleven countries who are parties to the agreement. The purpose
of the ISSC is to:
- promote the SKA as an international project,
- provide oversight and act as a coordinating body to establish
agreed goals and timelines for the project, and
- develop a joint international technical and scientific proposal
for the SKA, including an implementation and cost plan.
