Origin and Evolution of Cosmic magnetic fields

Image of rotation measure variance on
an angular scale of 1 degree (contours; top panel), constructed
from the catalog of rotation measures made from the NVSS (Taylor,
Stil & Sunstrum (2009). Note how RM avriance changes varies with
longitude and latitude, and mimics some well-known nearby
structures visible in the colour-coded H-alpha image in the background.
The bottom panel shows the slope of the second-order structure function of
